Any organization is only as strong as its member base and the Bowfishing Association of America is no exception.  Without your support the state of Bowfishing around the country would look much different than it does today. The sport of bowfishing is constantly under attack from anti-hunting groups, animal rights activists, as well carp and gar angler groups.  These groups are constantly looking for new ways to shut down Bowfishing.  Sometimes they go after certain bodies of water, or a particular species, and these groups are very powerful!  If you think they can’t take away your rights to Bowfish, you are sorely mistaken.

These groups have targeted Redfish in Louisiana, Alligator Gar in Texas, night bowfishing in Wisconsin, catfish in Pennsylvania, and instituted a carp season in New York, and the list goes on and on.  In almost every case the Bowfishing Association of America, or one of its members, have met these issues head on.  Some were won, some were lost, and some we knew nothing about until it was too late.  Without organizations like the BAA fighting for the rights of all bowfishers, things would be quite a bit different, and most likely not for the better.  This is why we need your support!
