About the BAA
A 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to educating, promoting and protecting the sport of bowfishing.
Bowfishing's national voice
The Bowfishing Association of America is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization with the goal of educating, promoting and protecting the sport of bowfishing.
We were incorporated in 1990 to manage bowfishing tournaments in the United States. While competition is still in our blood, our mission today is broader — to preserve, protect, and provide education on the sport for everyone who picks up a bow.
Our pillars
Preserve
Safeguarding access, waterways, and the long-term future of bowfishing for the next generation of bowfishers.
Protect
Standing up for the rights of bowfishermen against anti-hunting groups and restrictive legislation — there is strength in numbers.
Educate
Working with biologists and natural-resource departments to manage invasive species and non-game fish populations responsibly.
Bowfishing as conservation
Many of the species bowfishermen target are invasive or non-game fish that threaten native ecosystems. The BAA partners with state biologists and natural-resource departments to help control these populations — making every bowfisher part of the solution.
Meet the people behind the BAA
From national officers to state representatives, the BAA runs on volunteers who love the sport.
